#vicfurs is a channel on Furnet IRC for all furs in Victoria, Australia and their friends.
The channel was created in May 2007 for two main reasons.
The primary reason was the lack of a channel for all Victorian furs. There was/is a #melbournefurs channel, but the state is much bigger than that one city. This channel was created to fill that gap.
The secondary reason was a feeling of dissatisfaction with the owner/administrator of #melbournefurs. It was nothing personal, just that a number of furs were feeling uncomfortable with the content and conversations frequent in that channel.
The channel is open to and welcomes all people of all ages, as long as the rules are abided by.
